We Jazz

Helsinki's most inspiring annual jazz event, We Jazz, will take place for the eighth time from 28 November to 5 December. The festival, which presents the latest coverage of Finnish and international jazz, spreads in Helsinki to atmospheric and surprising gig venues.

Since 2013, We Jazz involves both Finnish and foreign artists and fills Helsinki with Jazz for a whole week. The venues change a lot from year to year and we jazz producers strive to find new and interesting performance spaces all the time. Many We Jazz gigs are quite small: music is often best when it is heard up close, and the We Jazz ideology involves investing in quality rather than quantity. Each concert is a hand-picked piece of the Jazz week program. We Jazz is often referred to as a festiva, but he terms "installation" and "utopia" have also established themselves in the description of the event. These words embody the spirit of We Jazz and direct thoughts beyond the traditional jazz festival field. Reforming the way Jazz is performed is one of the event's major endeavors, along with the best music possible.

The program includes e.g. Amanda Whiting (UK), Lucia Cadotsch Speak Low, Antti Lötjönen Quintet East, Ilmiliekki Quartet, Iro Haarla Presents: Leo Records, Koma Saxo feat. Sofia Jernberg, OK:KO and Timo Lassy Trio.
