The NordicBaltic Festival Platform (NBFP) is a platform for arts festivals in the Nordic-Baltic area. It aims to foster connections between arts and culture festivals in the Nordic-Baltic region for sharing experiences and knowledge. The platform builds the capacity of regional arts and culture festivals, increases the visibility of the festivals in the region and globally and is open to festivals across the arts sector.
NBFP has the far-reaching goal to engage up to 500 Nordic-Baltic arts & culture festivals in its activities. This way NBFP searches to enrich considerably the arts and culture scene in the Nordic-Baltics region.
Since May 2017 NBFP has been working to trial a platform to aggregate and archive live-streamed and recorded performances from festivals in the Nordic-Baltic region, whilst substantially reducing the costs. In 2019, NBFP has opened its 1st Call for Festival Pitches from the Russian Federation. The initiative aims to bring Russian festivals into interaction with their Nordic-Baltic counterparts in search for new and, hopefully, long lasting partnerships, and to foster the exchange of practices and artistic ideas.
