Culture for Sustainability Roundtable

The Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) invites stakeholders from the Baltic Sea Region to discuss the topic and how to jointly initiate synergies and partnerships to reveal new perspectives and opportunities for memory institutions, contributing to implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 and its SDGs.

The Culture & Sustainable development in the co-operation between Regional Identity and Sustainable & Prosperous Region priority areas of the CBSS will be presented by by Grzegorz Poznanski (Director General of the CBSS) during the round table. Stephen Wyber (Manager policy and advocacy, International Federation of Library Associations) will tell about the topic about integrating culture into development policies at the national and local levels. Dace Resele (Head of the Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC) Secretariat) will introduce the contribution of creative industries to the wellbeing of society.

ARS BALTICA will participate by sharing results of CULTURE4CLIMATE's Seed Money Phase as well as generating ideas and partnerships for the next steps ahead. The roundtable will be moderated by Daria Akhutina (Senior Adviser for Sustainable & Prosperous Region) and Thorvaldur Kristjansson (Senior Adviser Regional Identity). The ideas brought up during the roundtable discussion can then be developed further during the upcoming conference “Museums for Sustainable Future: Localizing and Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals”.
